Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain
by Willie Nelson
What a great song!! So I know its country, but I noticed that this song is one of the only slower paced songs there are in the 60's. Why is that? I think a theme that happens in the 60's is the music industry is starting to get more advanced, and starting to explore the outer limits of music. We hear so much of all the different types of genres that were expanding, while during this time, country music was always staying popular. The only difference with country was that it continued with no growth, so it wasn't listened like it could have been.
This song brings out the peaceful life of those who still wanted to live in peace during a chaotic time. The solo banjo playing, with just a brass drum playing brings out a peaceful soul to the audience. I loved how the song died out in the end, almost like its an end of a ballad. It gives it that peaceful feel which I love. Willie Nelson grew to become a famous artist in his career, but this piece he did in the prime of it gave him reputation from many during this era.
I definitely agree with you on just how peaceful this song is. I just felt so peaceful when I was listening to it. Listening to it, I don't think I could possibly feel any more peaceful than I do right now. I do find it funny that this kind of country music is so peaceful and pleasing to listen to while modern day country is so uninspired and predictable. Todays music in general is so attention hungry that they lose the heart that goes into a good song, such as this one. This song is really, truly... peaceful.
